I am a student doing a dive program this summer, and the two I've narrowed it down too are in the Egyptian Red Sea and Fiji. Overall, which has the better diving? Sites in Egypt will include shore and boat diving around the village Marsa Um Tondoba; Shaab Samadai; Abu Dabab; Check Point; Marsa Mikki; the Straits of Tiran including the reefs at Gordon, Thomas, Woodhouse, and Jackson; night dive at Ras Um Sid; Tower; Paradise; the Dunraven; the Thistlegorm; and Ras El Mohammed National Park including Shark and Yolanda reefs. The Fiji itinerary isn't as detailed, but it seems to generally be in Beqa Lagoon. Which of these programs offers better diving?

Good diving is a relative term. What do you like?
I would choose Egypt due to the historical opportunities.

The diving is good both places.

I'm going to vote for the Red Sea if it was just for the diving. Judging from your itinerary, the Red Sea trip sounds like it'll give you greater diversity and challenges.

But I think Fiji can be a great place to travel and dive if you want to chill out a bit more and hit some beaches.

I would do both, but if in order Fiji first and then the Red Sea, but it would be a personal choice! Either way it will be a good trip, also I am not aware of any bombs going off in Fiji among people who really love westerners! Just food for thought!
