I did Sharm el-Sheikh a couple years back in beginning of August, it was quite hot at the surface and a bathtub in the water.

But I found it manageable, significantly easier than Summer in say Montreal where you’re drenched in sweat walking around.

I’d do it again!
As a fellow Montrealer this gives me a perfect reference to plan my trip, most likely a LOB out of Sharm. Gotta time everything with the construction holidays 😉. Where did you stay/who did you dive with in Sharm?

Ah I don’t live in MTL but spent a few Summers there. ;)

I dove with Reef Oasis Dive Club. They have (or at least had?) 2 locations and I did both. One of them is in a resort that looked pretty good but didn’t stay there.

I was at the Renaissance Sharm El Sheikh Golden View Beach Resort (it was fine). They also had their own dive center but Reef Oasis had better reviews. Reef Oasis came to pick me up and drop me off, easy.

Now be careful with a LOB in Egypt, a lot of accidents (fire) in the recent years… a day trip is the most I would spend on a vessel there. Speaking of, go dive the Thistlegorm: outstanding!

Sounds good, thanks for the info!

Hey everyone. We are debating a trip to Egypt to dive the Red Sea, somewhere like Hurghada. Our schedule would put us there in August, and I’m concerned it will be miserably hot when above water. Anyone have experience visiting during this time of year? Advice? Thanks!
Hey there. I had a wonderful time in Egypt in August, but it was extremely hot. I was there for business, so I could not control my schedule. If I had my choice, I would visit during off season months. It was also a bit crowded. Also, take into consideration what is going on right now in that part of the world. Be safe!
