Dee once bubbled...
Rooster....what is the one with the broad black and white bands?

It's a Banded snake eel.

Here's a snake eel from Puerta Gallera...

...and love the great pictures. Eels are really interesting to look at, especially the look on Rax's first eel... it really broke the monotony of my day! After the cooking, cleaning, and socializing with the family frenzy, I am now alone, relaxed and checking out what's up with everyone here.

So is this new Eel Day an annual thing?

:winkbl:

A docile Giant Moray eel at East of Eden, Similan Archipelago. He always comes out to greet all visitors. I took his pixs last Dec. during my first U/W photography trip and hope to see him again this coming New Year trip.

Juv, he reminds me of a big green Moray on Paseo del Cedral in Cozumel. The DM's fed him for years so he was used to divers. He'd come out and follow us around the reef. If you'd kneel in the sand, he would swim over and around you just begging to be petted. Whether he was hunting for food or not, he was never aggresive to divers.

They found him a couple of years ago dead in the reef with knife wounds all over him body.
