I just don't log dives
I am thinking of coming up to visit friends in Edmonds in March and would like to dive the park. It's been a while.

How is the typical vis this time of year? I have done solo dives there in the past but i know they technically require a buddy. Enforced or not? Would be open to diving with anyone who is interested and available (dates TBD).

I've never seen anything enforced there, but don't quote me on that.

Vis in March can be really good or bad, depending on the weather. Rain/heat = bad, turbid or algae bloom. Clear cold weather generally means better vis. I wouldn't worry about it and just go diving.

Have fun!

Yes that's my usual plan. With a place to stay and good friends to hang out with, it's not a big deal if the diving is only so-so...and it might be great :)

Thanks.

That's just about the time that days get long enough to get an algoe bloom. It is a gamble. See pnwdiving. You are better off getting viz reports on various FB groups.

I know the "no-solo" diving thing has been enforced in the past, but I don't think it's very vigilantly enforced, there's not a SCUBA policeman standing on the beach or anything. The other rule that I know is enforced is the "no scooters" rule, and I know at least one person who was told to go put it back in his car by a policeman after someone reported him.

Let me know when you'll be in town and ready to dive. I'd be happy to meet you for a dive and perhaps show you some other great places beyond Edmonds. I'm retired so I have a flexible schedule if I'm not traveling.
