eating oysters in the shell...question

There are thousands of raw oysters eaten every year without incident

i eat them raw all the time ... it's my favorite way

of course, Drago's (New Orleans) grilled oysters are just ... perfect

the oysters were tightly shut and were cold to the touch...I opened a raw one up and smelled it...smelt fine to me...bought them last friday, ate them again today...

Theoretically, shouldn't fresh oysters be just like fresh fish -- no smell to them at all? If you do smell them, they aren't fresh, right?

well... fresh oysters do have a faint smell ... fresh, like salt-water ...

if it smells fishy at all, that's not good

It isn't difficult to find out freshness through a color, smll, or taste, texture filling on bite... Smell is almost last step to show an indication.

It is common practice to eat a raw oyster in an Asian dinning table except a summer season. A raw oyster is much better than a viagra. A raw abalone and sea ulchin are also most pricey ones.
