Did you forget about those nasty thermoclines we had almost all summer long? Brrr! I never took off my hooded vest all summer long!

I don't know. It was never that bad for me. I suppose it also depends on your depth. I did wear a hood during the summer, but that was just to prevent getting rash from my wetsuit neck and my BC.

From what I've been told, the trouble with drysuits here in the summer is the time between gearing up and actually jumping or walking into the water.

Sometimes that's even a problem with the wetsuits! Standing around in full gear waiting for your buddy to finish gearing up can definitely make you appreciate the water temperature.
