Hi,

I can spend three weeks in Tanzania, Mozambique, and/or Madagascar in Septrember (flying from London). Any tips for a good itinerary? Would it make sense to move between the coutries? I recon it is rather diffcicult and pricey. I have friends in Madagascar who encourage me to spend some time whale watching but I understand Zanzibar/Pemba/ Mafia/ and Mozambique offer better diving. Any thoughts, please?

Pemba has the best wall diving in Africa. You'd have to do a lot of flying to link them up eg Dar to Pemba to Dar to Joburg to Inhambane to Joburg to Dar for example. Pick either Tanzania for Pemba and maybe Unguja (erroneously called Zanzibar by everybody) or Mozambique. Tofo in Moz is great for both manta species and whalesharks, Pemba has amazing walls and hard and soft coral and colourful fish life. Tofo is not the place for coral, but has healthy reefs.
