Na no cold. I clean my ears everyday. Especially a dive day. But like I said, feeling great today. But thanks for your post, I never though of ear wax causing a problem. And for a critter in your ear, I always loved getting those jobs.... If you want to hear some funny stories, just PM me and I'll share. :D

Then perhaps you simply ascended too quickly... check your dive profile on your computer. This is something I do every night after a day of diving, and I continue to be amazed at the little red lines indicating I was changing levels TOO rapidly ... you really do need to ascend slower than you think. Listen to your computer ... mine will beep if I ascend too quick, but I have to really be listening to it to hear it...

I once felt bubbles coming out of my ear on a ascent. At least I think it was bubbles. It felt really weird.

Actually on ascent it would be called a "block" not a squeeze but I guess it hurts either way. I'm sure my day will come, but I'm in no hurry.

I know one guy that had it happen after a cold. He thought he was clear but there must have been some residual blockage that trapped air on the way up.

According to my NAUI recue diver course, descend a few feet and rock your head side to side. It worked for the diver in the prior paragraph.
