jupitermermaid - Thanks for your comment. There was a chap on another topic who thought he could never dive, and someone suggested the proear-Proplug combo. I linked the topic over here, and hope he found some comfort in your words.

If anyone here is going to be stopping by DEMA, you should stop by our booth. We'll be at booth #2207. Doc will be there, and he would love to chat with you... who knows, you might even end up with a pair of earplugs before you leave...
 
I used DPP's a few times but they always made me feel like they were causing a reverse block upon ascent. I don't believe the ones my LDS had were vented, but I have since stopped wearing them.
 
Be advised that the VENTED Proplugs are made in CLEAR OR FIRE ENGINE RED.

The solid Proplugs are made in a transparent blue and transparent pink.

USE **ONLY** VENTED EARPLUGS FOR DIVING.
