I thought the notion of getting out of the way first was implied, but maybe not. I should have clarified. To be honest I've only had to do this once in my diving career, at Porto Mari. I shot it because I couldn't figure out what the boat was doing and I didn't know what his intentions were. He spent 3-5 min making small circles around the mooring line. We were at 60' so no risk to us but we swam out a distance from under him and shot it so that he knew we were there and because we were about to start our ascent. Turns out his deck hand was having trouble grabbing the mooring line.
