Hi, as a newbie I've just got a E620 & Olympus UFL-2 strobe using an optical trigger, & looking at the camera/strobe manuals has left me very confused, could anyone out there give some starting pointers as to what I should be doing to set this up, please!
John.

There should be 2 openings in front of the camera housing and flash, you use the Fiber Optic Cable (PTCB-E02) attached to the openings on the camera and flash. The flash from the camera will set the flash off in manual mode. put the camera in the rc mode and the flash from the camera will set of the ufl-2. you will also need this it didn't come with the case Underwater Long Arm PTSA-01 Arm this connects the flash to the case if you're not using a bracket the arm fits in the shoe on the camera housing, and the flash attacheds to the bracket on the flash. hope this didn't confuse you more.:D

Agree with all Incognegro says. Assume you are using the Olympus housing.

I don't use rc mode. With the camera you must set the flash to auto to run flash in sTTL. Ensure the flash is up when you start the dive. Disable auto flash pop up.

These are my settings for my e-520.

I shoot Raw
I use Auto WB
I shoot ISO-100 macro, 200 W/A most of the time
Noise Red/Filter-OFF
RE mode OFF
S-AF anti-shock OFF
AF/MF Live boost-OFF
L/V -OFF I don't use L/V
X-sync 1/180(max?) macro
Lens auto retract_OFF if you use a gear it may mess up the lens.
I zero out Sat,sharp, contrast and handle in PP

I got these settings from Phil Rudin who knows these cameras better than just about anyone on this site. If you get into trouble either reply here or PM him.

Great camera btw and you should have a good time with it. What lenses are you planning to use?

Hi Ardy, thanks for the reply, looks like good advice, should "re mode off" be rc mode off? I've now got it to function using the "super flash panel, set to TTL & the Oly' strobe is talking to it 1 But I'll copy the settings & try them when I get a chance to get U/water again( bad weather now coming in! tailend of your hurricane plus the impending Brit' winter!) thanks again, buddy!

Yes RC off - although you can use this mode with Olympus flash I believe but unless you want flash off camera cant imagine why you would use it.
