Better color, better contrast, sharper, and more keepers 
Not all of em turned out sharp enough 
+ availability of AF with TC for more reach and less cropping

if the price is only 570 forget about buying a compact digital camera. just add few more dollars and get yourself the best DSLR

Stunning topside shots Matthew, particularly fond of the crane? flying..
The beach shot is wonderful, but I think that would look wonderful also in b&w.

Actually, the bird is a Great Blue Heron, pretty similar to cranes though

Great pics - I really like the first .
I would have jumped on the special at Adorama as I desperately want a DSLR . I'm waiting to see what comes out of PMA - wonder what the new Oly E-1 successor will go for ?

IMHO, get the 330 now, dive lots, shoot lots of great pictures, sell the camera/housing when the new Oly comes out...if it has live view!

The E1 premiered for over $2k, I dunno if the successor will premier at a similar price as the market is fairly saturated with feature-rich cams at decent pricing.
Rumors floating around about an improved E400 for the US(and the rest of the world) market, not sure what is included in improved, but I hope LiveView is part of it as well... Not sure how they'd go about it without completely changing the body. While I hope LiveView is included, I think Oly will stick to a different line of cameras for LiveView.
E-X Probodies
E-4XX Small bodies
E-3XX Poro-prism design & LiveView(remember, the E300 was SUPPOSED to have LiveView, but Oly couldn't perfect it in time)
E-5XX Budget bodies
I don't KNOW this as Oly's scheme of things, but I have a feeling thats 4 lines Oly will continue with...?
