Hello all.

I recently got an L&M housing for my E20. The guy I bought it from told me that it needed service because the camera would turn off underwater for no aparent reason. The camera would turn right back on at the surface and have plenty of juice left.

I sent it to L&M and had it completely refurbished and took it out for the first time. Whaddayaknow.... my camera turned off at 35 feet for no apparent reason.

The housing doesn't have any power control, so I'm left scratching my head....

Any ideas?

If it is happening at 35ft always and not a timed interval, it has to be the pressure pushing in on the case or buttons and causing the problem. The camera will probably turn itself off on a timed interval, but you should be able to turn it back on using the shutter button.

Since you say there is no power feature on the housing, it may be something inside that is touching the power button under pressure so check for that also.

Hope that helps, its where I would start anyhow. ;)

I have had similiar problems with my c5050 in the factory housing. I have fresh batteries in the camera, go down into the Ballroom at Ginnie Springs (50 foot depth)and the battery indicator tells me the batteries are dead, shortly there after it turns off. When i get back to the surface the battery light shows full charge and I can use the camera. very weird:huh: . My on/off switch isn't moved by pressure so i'm not sure what the deal is. Interestingly enough I can go to 80 feet out in the Gulf without the same problem. Maybe Ginnie .......is haunted.....:11:
