BlueWaterPhotoShop called today to inform me my E-M5 and FL300R have shipped, which means I will receive them in-time to meet Olympus Rebate offer for a $169 rebate on FL300R. Camera and Flash were ordered and paid for in early July, seems Olympus is finally starting to catch up for the high demand on this camera.

Last Friday I ordered Nauticam NA-EM5 housing and 12-50mm Port. Hope they will arrive in a couple of weeks.

On another note, neither ZEN nor Nauticam will be able to make an adapter which would allow ZEN PEN ports to fit NA-EM5 housing. It can not be done due to diminsion problems. Not sure what I'm going to do with my ZEN PEN Domes of panny 8mmFE and 7-14mmWA lenses.

It all depends on what Olympus will do with the PEN line moving forward.
If they keep the same port interface, the ZEN domes will hold their value and be useful in the PEN world.
If they change that interface, then the ZEN ports max out at the epl3. Which isn't a bad system at all.
I think there will still be a market for the epl1/2/3 & epm1 for a couple of years.

My E-PL2 is certainly capable of pro image quality (if not ultra blazing speed) and I have been very happy with it. Just bought a used Zen macro 45 port to go with my 9-18mm dome. I might upgrade later this year, but, looking at my recent images, there is no hurry and I will wait to see what new cameras and housings come out.

Tripntx,

I was in Bluewater on Monday and talked with Scott. I'm sure you'll get your housing in a couple of weeks, but the port for the 12-50 has not been released yet. I am getting the housing and ports for the 8mm panny and the 12-50, but am not ordering for a couple of months (got to pay off the camera and lenses first!) so maybe by then, the 12-50 port will be available.

Thanks for the 12-50 port availability update. It is a pricey port, $800 for port/gears combo; but the focal length it offers covers a lot. I primarily shoot fairly wide, but occassionally find small stuff, so having ability to shoot macro with same lens will be nice.

I want to purchase both ports for 8mm panny and 7-14mm panny, but need to sell off my e/pl1 stuff and zen domes first. Nauticam will have my business for m4/3 housing from this point forward as long as the housings remain priced at an affordable range like the NA-EM5 is. Their PEN housings have been priced to high in the past, which kept me from going aluminum.

KEN10888.jpg OM-D E-M5 and FL-300R were ordered/purchased July 2nd, just received package on Friday, cut off UPC labels, filled out OLY rebate form, and took envelope to PO Saturday morning Aug18th. Just barely made the "post marked" cut-off date to get $169 rebate on flash.
