Today was my first time in the water with the Sigma 105mm lens. We dove on the wreck of the Avalon, off Palos Verdes Penninsula, Southern California. Depth was 80 feet and visibility was an acceptable 15 feet, more or less.
I was impressed with how well the images turned out. Autofocus worked pretty well once I turned on the modeling lights. The real joy? These pictures were taken four to six inches from the end of the flat port! Lots of room for lighting with the strobes and far enough away not to scare the critters.
I'm going to need a lot of practice with this lens, but I think it's a keeper.
