Duplicate smilies?

Why are there only six unique smilies in the box next to the text window when we can have nine?

A similar problem appears while using the standard editor (with extra formatting controls). There's a smilie dropdownlist in the top menubar with the following content.

This happens when we compile more than one list of smilies and don't take the time to edit them all.

We just don't take our smilies seriously enough I guess!

I wonder about the :w-t-f: smilie (remove the hyphens). Since the acronym is banned by the board, the smilie doesn't work anywhere except the smilie list.
