My TLS350 currently is fitted with a DUI Zip neck seal (G1). I find the ring fairly stiff and does not sit flush around my neck. Can my TLS350 be retroffited with a Si Tech Orust neck seal system? I'm worried about the diameter of the Si Tech system. The suit is size XS is fairly narrow on the shoulder. A wide ring would sit below the straps of my harness, which would the straps latterally off my shoulders.

Does anyone know the diameter of the Si Tech Orust ring? Is it as soft and pliable as I have seen in photos?

O.

The folks at DRIS don’t recommend the Orust due to the fiddly little clips.

I just had a drysuit made by Otter, they don't use the Orust as they found the Quick Neck performed just as well as the Orust as far as comfort goes and better than the original Neck Tite - and you dont have to worry about losing all the little clips. I don't know the diameter off hand but CLICK HERE and there is the SI Tech product installation guide...

Just checked actually and it does have the diameter, 240 mm on the inside edges and 270 mm on the outside edges.

I have had my original SiTech neck seal replaced twice on a rocking boat without me removing the suit. I can't imagine how that would have been successful with those ridiculous Orust clips, I am sure they would have ended up either overboard or lost under something on deck.

I would love to try the O-rust.

it’s nice and flexible. Got my hands on one at DRIS a while back. But those little clips are very fiddly and easy to lose.

I would have one on my neoprene suit if they had it out when I had the suit made, when I first put the suit on the quick neck digs in a little although once everything settles into place I don’t feel it. I like that you can press the seal into place without the tool but would probably carry extra clips along with the extra seal.

When I ordered my new suit, I ordered it with the Orust system. Apparently, Ursuit couldn't deliver that, so it came with Quick Neck (Si Tech's gen 2 system) instead. Of course after I'd approved the change.

The Quick Neck is so much softer and more flexible than Neck Tite (gen 1) and I'm really happy with it. So if you're concerned about those fiddly bits, Quick Neck may be an alternative.

I have a TLS350 with Zip neck which I cut out, then ground down the residual rubber with a Dremel tool. I replaced it with the original Necktight ring, then replaced that with the Quickneck ring. They both fit perfectly into the original hole. I don't know if all DUI neck openings are the same, but I had no size issues. The Quickneck ring is flexible enough that I can install it without the roller (no leaks and is convenient if you forgot your roller (same ring as Necktight so now I have a spare). I would imagine that the ORUST is TOO flexible (in my opinion) as it REQUIRES fiddly little lose-able clamps (a bunch of 'em) It actually gives me the hee-bee jee-bees just to look at it.
Its not just a Kludge, but a Kluster-Kludge.
I hope this is of some use.

The question is how often would you need to mess with the clips?
