Duct Tape is good,
But I'm also a
Cable Tie Guy

My bcd is currently mended, in a most hidden spot, with two zip ties. This will remain so until the end of its days as there's no other way to repair it. All other avenues had already been taken and eventually failed. Zip ties to the rescue but now that I think about it, duct tape might just have worked too.

One of the guys I dove with is 6'6" (at least). The dive shop had a hard time fitting him to a rental (before he bought a custom made) wetsuit. It was about 2-3" short on the legs so they wrapped duct tape around his legs to fill the gap between top of his boot and the bottom of the wetsuit legs. Made it really easy to spot him underwater.

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are!

Maybe there is a solution other than the duct tape.

Quite a few years ago, before my knee replacement surgery, I was looking for the easiest kicking fins I could find to lessen the pain. I bought a pair of Mares Volos for that reason. They worked OK for a couple of years, but then they broke (both fins) at the hinge point on the blade. (See a picture to understand.) I used duct tape to hold them together, and I dive for a surprisingly long time like that. I was by then working for the dive shop that had sold them to me originally, and they sent them in to Mares, apparently believing an instructor with duct tape on the gear was not good advertising. I had had them for 5 years, but Mares sent me a brand new pair. You never know.
Mares is good that way. I'm just a regular diver, and had the mares rep replace my out of warranty x-stream fins without a second thought. i'm using diverite now.

I second the aforementioned nod to zip ties. For many applications they're a great addition to duct tape in your SAD kit.

I remember one time Uncle Pug used duct tape to "repair" a set of split fins so that they would function properly ... :)

My current BC (my FIRST, used, 2005) is a piece of crap. Full of duct tape and other devices to replace clips, etc. Fortunately while DMing 4 years I could use GREAT shop gear. I'll replace it. Give me money.

Here is a problem which may have to be addressed by SB. What is this "you must wait 16 seconds before you post this". Then there is a double post. I'm out in the sticks now, but have had the same problem at home. Maybe it's me.

I have no idea. You can ask a question on the site support forum, and I will direct the question to @HowardE.
