cool_hardware52:LG Diver,
What I didn't like was the requirement for a 360 degree zipper in the center panel of a donut wing. If you are building a "double bladder" donut wing, that is a sewn outer shell and a rf welded inner bladder, you need a 360 degree opening to install the inner bladder. In most cases this means a 360 zipper around the center panel of the wing.
Tobin
gurumasta:much better. the bottom of the wing is now about upper butt while deflated, where as before it was a few inches below the bottom of my bottom. thanks for your help! i cant wait to dive it and give a review! -derek
dsteding:That sounds a bit more like it. Also, check the height of your D-rings, and your hip ring-if you are clipping off your reg and SPG (don't know if you are diving a long hose and an SPG instead of a console) it is good to get the placement of those rings dialed in before your first dive.
I imagine you'll be tweaking the straps a bit on the first few dives-it took me three to get things right. When you do, you'll be really happy with the performance of the BP/W. Tobin makes some good equipment-I've been very happy with my LCD 30 and plate.
gurumasta:ive been messing around with it to be ready for a dive. i threw on all my gear, wetsuit and everything to tighten it up nice and straighten out placement of the d-rings. wish me luck with buonancy control seeing as i certainly dont have it mastered. im not sure if ive ever even dove the same bc more than twice. rentals and demos up until now. :14:
evad:I thought the zipper was there to access the inner bladder. Like the hood on a car which, I suppose, does facilitate getting the engine in.
cool_hardware52:What if you had an engine with a 100,000 mile service interval?
evad:I'd still want to be able to get in there. That's just me. Is the outer shell completely waterproof (salt proof) or does it have drainage holes?
lowwall:Tobin,
So which wing are you recommending to those who have no particular preference? For your Torus vs. LCD singles wings, can you give us a quick pros/cons or overview of conditions that favor one or the other? Or was this more a matter of responding to demand than building a better mousetrap?
