Thin poly liner sock against the foot, Smart Wool sock over top, followed by a thin crushed neoprene sock that goes over top of socks and the stirrup (sp?) legs of the drysuit undergarment.

I use wool socks inserted into 1mil neo. scuba socks then into the dry suit boots.

I use wool blend Thor-Lo Heavy Trekking socks layered with some thin Polartech socks on top that I picked up at an LDS (Aloha). Warm and toasty. :)

I don't think they make the exact Thor-Lo's I wear anymore, as I've had these for a good decade from my winter camping days in NY, but these look pretty similar: http://www.thorlo.com/socks/travel-socks/crew/360.php

I'm going to experiment with the Carol Davis socks at some point, but just from a curiosity standpoint moreso than any actual need.

Thanks for all of the input folks!

Just so happens I have both Thorlos and Smart Wools in the sock drawer. Looks like all I need is a liner sock and I'm set. I tried on the complete drysuit ensemble yesterday and the heavy inner booties combined with the suit feet and Rockboots made for crampy piggies.

Cramped piggies are not good. You want to be able to wiggle those piggies.

I don't layer. I use EITHER a poly liner OR the Thorlo sock. My feet have not been cold yet! (not in my drysuit, anyway)

Congrats on the new suit bro!! What did you end up getting?

Billy

Greetings Billy! I found myself a DUI CLX450 Signature on eBay, complete with DUI undies and Rockboots! I my size too! The boots are 13s. The suit is used, but other than some sun fade, it looks great. Fit is as if tailored for me. Seals look a little dodgy, but are probably good for a few dives, and the zipper appears to be ok.

So...what are you doing next Sunday? I know you're not on Pacific Star :(
Up for a drysuit training dive??:eyebrow:

I would love to dive Sunday but have obligations. I'm free Saturday. I'll be wet if we're beach diving though. The cold doesn't bother me and I'd rather not take my DS on any more beach dives. It's too much of a pain for something that is already a pain to begin with.

Billy

D'oh! I meant Saturday! Let's go diving then! OK, no drysuits...I'll be diving my new jets then. How about showing me one of those places in Malibu you're always diving? I'll call you...we'll discuss...

Later!
