Considering going to a drysuit (getting a little chilly to dive wet in MA this time of year).

I was wondering, in general, how much weight do people find themselves adding to their weight systems as a result of the move to the drysuit.

Thanks in advance.

Matthew

Obviously, I will defer to your experience and your overall Pugliness, but can you explain. I was under the impression that the drysuit almost invariably added buoyancy necessitating further weight.

Is this a statistically incorrect statement, or are you simply broadening my horizons by indicating that, while statistically true that most people need to add weight, 1 out of 100 divers will actually take weight off?

Unc?

I was too. I ended up taking off about 2 pounds.. and there might be room for a couple more.

And this is with a compressed (not crushed) neoprene suit!

You may or may not add or subtract weight. :D

What are you diving for a wetsuit now and with how much weight?

What type of drysuit and undergarment do you intend to get?

Here goes:

6"8, 300 lbs (hence the King Kong in KKM) wearing a one-piece 7mm and wearing 32 lbs...strictly salt-water diving

Considering going to crushed neoprene suit from Diving Concepts with Diving concepts thinsulate undergarment.

You should be able to drop some weight... especially if you use the BC or Wing for buoyancy compensation and just add gas to the suit to relieve squeeze.
