I purchased a Pinnacle Freedom 2 dry suit from L/P last spring and put about 80 dives on it without a problem. After a couple of dives a buckle cracked (my fault), but L/P shipped it back to Pinnacle to have it replaced. They offered me a new replacement, but I wanted the same suit back because the neck seal fit so well. I installed my own pocket and p-valve with no issues. I did manage to blow out my neck seal at the end of last year and since L/P isn't a full-service shop (and seals aren't covered by any dry suit manufacturer) I had to deal with a third party to have the seal replaced.
I agree with the poster above that cutting a neck seal is really not that big of a deal. The key is a very sharp pair of scissors and patience. Do not try to cut both sides at once. Cut down a line at a time and try it on after cutting each strip.
