wife bought me a bare nex gen drysuit this summer...want to add a pocket to each thigh...where do you recommend I get it them? and if glue on, any tips?

Thanks jonnythan - that's the first "reasonably" priced pocket I've come across - I just can't see paying $60-$70 for a piece of nylon that's been sewn together...

Is there any way of stitching pockets onto a drysuit? Or does glue hold well enough? I ask because it seems like every glued pocket I've seen has been starting to peel off.

hmmm... i guess if you can stitch the pockets on without messing with the
drysuit's ability to keep water out it'd be ok... maybe to an external layer of
fabric or something like that, but then you have to wonder, will it be strong
enough and not rip when you have stuff in the pocket

i would say gluing them is the way to go. follow the directions, use the right
kind of glue, and you should be ok

They can be sewed on, but then you have to seal stitching with aquaseal or something like it. Now when you might have to replace a pocket you have increased the difficulty of removing the pocket and the probability of tearing your drysuit.

ahh - gotcha... I've only put pockets on wetsuits and never been happy with glue - I ended up stitching all of them on eventually ... but wet suits tolerate leaking better than dry suits

Sometimes I think I would have been better off just buying a pair of X-shorts to begin with ...

best price so far, thanks
and gonna use that glue
