I am preparing to order my first dry suit in a week or so. I have seen some polls and info on preferences for the valve placement. As I will be new to dry suit diving I suppose I could get used to anything but as the suit will be made to measure I can have the valve placed anywhere for very little cost. Is the purpose of placing the valve on the forearm to aid in dumping while doing horizontal ascents and decends? What disadvantages are there in a forearm valve placement? Where exactly is the best spot for the valve- I believe it could be placed anywhere that doesn't interfere with a seam. I will be getting a compressed neoprene suit. The form I need to complete to custom order a suit doesn't offer only (2) spots so I need to be specific.
