These type of gloves with the rings do you have to send the suit off to have these installed or are they self installed?? Thanks.

Depends on the suit. They can be installed yourself but it's a PITA.

I just bought the OS Systems dry glove system. They self install quickly as well. I was especially pleased with the company. I sent back the glove shells to be exchanged for a larger size. Not only was the company cooperative, they shipped the replacements the same day the others arrived there and they even called my after a few days to make sure that I had received them. Great service from OS Systems!!

...from Bob3 to go on my Viking Xtreme suit. I installed them myself and can take them off about any old time. They have rings that attach to the top of the cuff, almost touching the suit and mating rings for the gloves. The first time I tried it, it seemed to take forever to get them right. Since then, I've had them on and off twice, making adjustments, and each time it seems to get a little easier. You can take a look when we go to Gilboa. By the way, I have several pairs of 'barely used' gloves and an OLD hood to give away/sell at the Gilboa meeting, as I doubt that I'll go back to wet gloves.

With most kits, you can go either way. Most folks like the flexability afforded by using the "temporary" method of attaching.
If you send the suit in, it runs between $50 - $100 for the glue job.

I installed the Diving Concepts gloves myself. It's not very hard. The directions that come with the kit are not bad. It takes about 15 minutes. You do not have to modify the suit in any way. They install using you existing Latex or Neoprene seals. The rings install right over them. Be carefull not to detach the gloves from the glove rings. They are a pain in the A#$ to put back on!
I used them for the first time this past weekend. I'm really happy with them. I found that I have better dexterity under water than with the neoprene gloves. They are a lot warmer too.

Hey Frankenmuth_Tom, ol buddy.

Save at least one set of those mittens/gloves in case you destroy a dry glove on a trip. That way you can still dive with wet-hands.

Trust me on this..... It will probably happen sometime.
