Jimran I've never used an OMS, but have had good results with Halcyon and Salvo balanced units.Never had a problem with my first homemade one either. A lot of leaks are the result of a sloppyinstall. Take your time and do it right or have somebody with experience do it and you shouldn'thave a problem.The worst part of the whole process is intentionally punching a hole in your drysuit that first time...Steve @ Gamble Scuba does very nice work.
 
You don't have to WEAR the diaper, just fold it and place it wear it will do the job, then you can just reach in pull it out throw it away and place another for the next dive

Most of my work dives are in a dry suit. Most of my work dives are in the 2 to 3 hour range, usually in pretty cold water (34 degrees a week ago, but that was fairly short).
No diaper, no pee valve, I just pee at the last possible minute before suiting up.
Unless you're doing those 5 hour deco hangs after multi hundred foot dives just hold your bladder.
