Were you in FL? Never mind. I just see the new thread....

Lucky guy....

Me in FL?...Noooooo. :D We dove the "O".

So what's the lowest it gets back there? We dive mid to high 50's in double layers of 7mm wetsuits and open faces. It gets nippy.

Uhmmmmm...... Other than 1 wreck diving specialty dive, I haven't had any overhead dive training.:blinking:

That's ok. Just make a really really big hole :D

Dove in 41 degree water last year. Don't know about attempting it wet but it was pretty nice dry. I dove two dives in 54 degree water with a very cold surface temp and was fine in my 6.5 semi dry.

Much depends on where you dive and what depth you go to here. The quarries are mostly shallow and warm up nicely during the summer and early fall. Some lakes are quite cold at depths below 50 feet. Temps can be in the upper 30's even in August.
Been there done that in a 3mil suit.

I used to dive with 7 mm with the hooded vest in the lower 40 degree water. Actually, as you know, the bottom water temp (at deeper than 45ft) is around 42 degree all year around in mid-west.

The main issue is the surface interval after the 1st dive. If you aren't able to be warmed up after the dive, 2nd dive won't be long base on my experience. Most my buddies called the 2nd dive after 10 min. bottom time.

After going to the dry, it is very hard to go back to the wet. The divers used to be pretty much spolied...
