I'm interested in getting something to protect my keys while I dive. Any recommendations for dive boxes? :06:

I wear my car key on a string around my neck under my drysuit, I used to put them in my light cannister, but now, the new HID cannisters are so small you cant fit the keys in them anymore.

For a wallet I have used one of these......... http://www.witzprod.com/witzprod/public_html/

for years, and taken them well below 200 ft without them flooding (thin flat cash and credit card sized one). I usually have to replace it every two years or so, sometimes they flood in the pool, sometimes they never flood. Luck of the draw I guess. But it means that you dont have to leave your cash on the boat.

So far I've been lucky to leave my wallet in my bluejeans pocket on the dive boat. Most of my boat dives are 2-tank charters.
How often do people get ripped off?

why not just keep a single key with you and lock your whole keyring inside your vehicle?

i asked my open water instuctor what to do with my key... he sayed buy a car with a code button thing on the door... what a jerk... he let me keep my keys in his car

I use a watertight lunch box as my dry box. It is not for bringging it underwater.... I'll take the chance of being ripped off rather than making it wet (So far never been ripped off, crossing my finger)

If you decided to use a lunchbox, make sure you buy one with rubber seal, it will ensure the watertightness. I use it to store store my cell phone, keys, and sometime wallet.

The Otterboxes work well, but make sure the seal is perfectly clean before closing it. Even a hair will make the thing useless. (I had one flood on me... passport stamps don't tend to like the water much -- good thing I wasn't relying on the stamps to prove my visa!)

I bought it originally because I drive a newer Volkswagen, and there is no separating the key from the remote -- it's one unit. So, I use an Otterbox to take it with me when I'm diving somewhere near my car.
