Dear Scubapro,

Is there a kit to make the MK11 the same as the MK17 having a Dry ambient pressure chamber? If so, would the cost of this kit make the MK11 price equal to the MK17 or it is still more economical than the MK17?

P.S. The new regulator configurations for the S560 (MK17 and MK11) with their new pricing are just totally awesome!!!

There is no official kit to convert the MK11 to a dry regulator. I believe you can do it by replacing the ambient chamber from the MK11 with one from an MK17. I think you would be better to buy the MK17 if you are wanting a dry first stage.

In my region the difference in retail price between the two first stages is about €70 (or $75), will this part cost around the same?

Actually, when one compare the retail prices for the MK17/S560 and the MK11/S560 combinations, the price difference appears to be only €30/$32!! Considering that the MK17 first stage specifications are higher than the MK11 regardless of the Dry ambient pressure chamber feature, it is well worth the $32 price increase to buy the MK17/S560 combination for sure.

Those S560's are nifty little 2nd stages. I bought 2 to couple with my Hollis DCX for my sidemounted bailout bottles for my rebreather. Internally, the S560 is identical to the S600's that had the plastic barrels. I didn't need all the chrome "pretties" of the S600, since I tend to beat the crap out of my regulators anyway.

I am doing my research before I make my decision on what will be the standard regulator for my dive school. I am now considering the MK17/S560 and the MK11/S560 after I got the new prices for these two new combinations. They are a very difficult offerings to beat IMO.

Good luck getting a reply from SP, I've found their customer service to be woeful, well actually not woeful as that would suggest some customer service was actually offered. I've attempted numerous times to make contact via different avenues and have never received any replies. Thank god there are other avenues for parts and experts on this board.

I received a reply from them stating that there is no such kit for the MK11. It doesn't matter to me anymore since the new SP pricing came out, the MK17/S560 combination is only few dollars more than the MK11/S560. It isn't worth the trouble to get any type of kit for the MK11.

The MK17/S560 combination (new combination in the SP in place of the S360) is VERY attractively priced.
