housing is actually normal length for cans at 10.5" long, just is really skinny at only 1.5" diameter. Makes it look funny.

How long are your dives?
Impact Stubby Dive Light - Backup Lights - Lights - TECHNICAL DIVING - Dive Right in Scuba
That lasts for 2 hours on high, same light head, $150 for the light with charger and second battery. Better than burning c cells every dive. That can isn't bad, and it's nice and cheap, but I'd rather go for the handhelds

Wow about "normal length". I've been diving one of AndrewY's "1k west coast customs" he made for the local SoCal crowd. Its only about 6" tall as a 4-pack of 18650's powers it.

But with a much larger diameter. Also, 3x26650 is more power than 4x18650. Having said that, by "normal length" he means the length of most canisters made by professional manufacturers. Dive Rite, Light Monkey, UWLD, Halcyon, etc. You're talking nearly 12" for many of those. AndrewY's custom things are nice.....but by no means are they the "normal size" or a "standard" by which stuff should be measured.

Light Monkey 10a is 9" long, 20a is 12" long. UW Light Dudes lights are in the same ballpark. It's not the shortest canister out there, but it's not out of the norm for cave diving

which was important because it shows you how to use rechargeables with that light, otherwise you'll go broke buying C cells..... The light head itself is the same basic head on all of the backup lights, so nothing special about it.
