You will get used ot your equipment! After 10 dives, you are just discovering traits of your gear. I also notice that the booties get fulla foot-heated water. Wish I could find a use for that!
 
I just did some experimentation with my Jetfins to accommodate new rock boots.

Putting drainage holes was one of the experiments. They work great, but be careful. The holes may look nice and clean from the outside, but the inside of the holes may have some ragged edges. With use, those edges could rip the fins. Poking a hole with a hot soldering iron may work a little better.

As for the experimentation, the rock boots fit really tight in the pocket. So I broke down and invested in some Turtle fins.
