I installed the Dive Rite rapid exhaust shoulder valve onto my Halcyon Eclipse with no problem, and the setup appears to function fine (passed wet test in bath tub). Today, I transferred this new setup to my SS backplate (replacing my DR Jr Wing). All is fine, but for the fact that the rear-most portion of the rapid exhaust valve makes substantial contact with the neck of my LP95 when the wing is fully inflated--actually tipping forward the top left section of the wing. Could this contact create problems? Could the valve break/crack in certain circumstances--like jumping in the water off a boat? Unless someone can assure me that this contact does not matter, I will likely switch back to the simple elbow. I have been diving without a RE exhaust valve--the Jr Wing cannot take a RE valve--but I would really prefer to have the RE valve if possible.
