two of scubapros octos (r195 r095) are spec'd as "classic downstream valve"
what is that and how does it differ from air balanced
thanks guys
 
no difference, somewhat different things, though related. it means how the valve is closed. In the case of downstream, the spring holds the valve closed against the input pressure. balanced utilizes pressure on both sides to lessen the force needed to operate the valve (so a lighter spring is necessary). a downstream valve can be balanced or unbalanced.
