Sorry to hear that your dive experience at Choc Mool did not give you that feeling of being safe. If you ever want to try again - check out Dive Balam next time just north of Playa del Carmen. They have a website. We have done 4 cenote dives with them - great equipment - safety is paramount - and we had a great time. Try out Dos Ojos, Taj Majhal, or Grand Cenote too. If you do Dos Ojos, there is a photography outfit there that does fabulous videos of your trip. The operator is Henry Watkins. He gave us photography lessons specific to the cenote environment. very cool....
