Dove Lake Amistad, Sunday, 11-19-11

[Laredo Scuba Diver]

Traveled to Del Rio, Texas, to dive Lake Amistad. Visability was at 15 feet, between 30 and 45 feet. The temperature was 65 degrees at the surface. Noticed they put a huge floating platform for divers to use. There was also floating bouys with lines leading to underwater stuctures for divers to look at. I recommend this lake dive. Just wanted to share with fellow divers. Happy Thanksgiving. :cool2:

I went to Amistad many many years ago but found nothing to dive. So what did you find I would like to know more about this.

Could you dive from the shore or do you have to rent a boat?

You can dive right off the floating platform which is right on the shore.

Thanks! My husband and I are planning a trip around Texas next year, hitting several dive spots that don't require renting a boat. I had crossed this off the list, but it looks like it's back on now.

Where exactly did you dive? (It's a rather large lake!)

Amistad Aqua Adventures (see my sig line) is a good option for boat dives.
