There maybe something to diving doubles that is just far more enjoyable then anything else. If there is I haven't tried it yet. Yesterday I had the pleasure of trying alot of new things.
First was the BP/W BC configuration. Then there was the doubled AL80's with 2 Regs. Getting geared up took a few minutes. Fended off a few long looks at the doubles tanks. Even had one diver ask us what our expected BT would be. I just figured double the gas double the time. 2 hours of BT all in one shot is really cool.
Walking out to the water I had this idea that I was forsure going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. I just felt so heavy on land. Putting a little air in the wing I slipped on my fins as my buddy and I kicked out way out to some depth.
We made our plans and decended, easy as could be I leveled out dialed in our heading and off we went. I could not account for how easy it was to move from traditional BCD to BP/W.
I had a great dive and came back happy, tired, and HUNGRY!!
Exploring Japan underwater is only going to get better from here. For those of you who have not made the switch you might want to think it over.
I just wanted to say thanks to my dive buddy.
