Kevin has sung the praises of diving with double tanks for his entire 30+ years of diving, even back in the days when seemingly no one else was diving them and most people were making fun of him for using them.

About 2 years ago he got me a set of twin OMS 45's and I have to tell you that I love diving them more than any single tank I have ever dove.

While I don't dive cold water much anymore, evertime I do I dive my doubles.

My question to you is this. What size doubles do you prefer to dive, Manifold, Backpack setup etc.

Leisure dives in ocean: twin AL80's with Highland mills bands, Halcyon manifold.
Cave dives low flow: twin HP100's, HM band and sea elite manifold
Cave dives high flow: twin 104's, HM band and sea elite manifold
Wreck dives, depending sometimes HP100's or AL80's

I've tried a few different setups, and the ones that seem to work best for me at twin PST 130s. Seems also to be a popular choice with folk around here, so gas planning is fairly straightforward.

Twin AL80's for shore and ocean dives.
Twin LP 108's for cave dives.

I use a 50# Oxycheq Sig Series with both sets. Sea elite manifold and Highland Mills bands on both sets. I would like to have a 40# Sig Series doubles wing for when I am diving the Twin AL80's.

wetsuit - Al80s w/ Halcyon manifold, HM bands

drysuit - PST 104s w/ OMS manifold/bands (those may be replaced in the future tho)

Alum BP, 55-lb wing for either setup

LP85, Sea Elite manifold, #9FredT plate, Highland bends, Oxy#50 wing.

Drysuit- Double PST 104's Halcyon manifold, Highland bands - Halcyon 60lb Evolve

Wetsuit- Double Al 80's Sea Elite manifold, some bands - Halcyon 40lb Evolve

I have several sets of doubles Including my first ever set of twin AL 50's from the 70's, An antique set of twin steel 38's, set of twin pst 104's but my all time favorites are 3 sets of Twin Steel 72's from the mid 70's. All were made by Norris Industries, I have updated them with Highland Bands, scubapro isolation manifolds, OMS wing with OMS backplate and custom harness.
