Hi There,

I have a basic question. I am using a MK25 with two S600 while diving single tank. To dive with double tank I can use a second MK25. Do I need to do something to add the 2m hose? Like mentioned it while servicing? Is it common to do that or is it better to have a specific set for double and another one for single tank?

Thank you in advance

Yvan

Getting another first stage is fine. Eventually getting a dedicated set of regulators for doubles will be ideal. It's often a pain to have to switch from doubles to singles since you will constantly have to re-arrange hoses and switch regulators.

Usually people will put their backup reg, SPG, and drysuit on left post and their primary second stage (2m long hose) and BC inflator on the right post. You don't need anything special but some people like specific length of hoses for their SPG, backup regulator and inflator hoses.

For backup regulator, a 22"-24" hose (56cm-60cm) usually is recommended depending on what first stage is used. I have heard 22" works well for ScubaPro but my only experience is with Apeks regulators.
Usually a 24" (60cm) hose is also recommended for an SPG.

You will tire very quickly of tearing everything apart and redoing it to go from singles to doubles. Everybody I know has a dedicated setup for single tank, and a set of doubles regs.

There is nothing to putting hoses on. You take the old ones off, and put the new ones on and tighten them gently with a wrench. Just don't ever tighten hoses when they are pressurized (slices the o-rings).

Thanks to both of you. At the moment I am diving only during trips. These trips are either Tec or Rec but never both at the same time. If I have to do a Rec dive in a Tec trip, I rent the gear and conversely.

I do about 50 dives a year so before buying the full kit I will wait a little bit. Maybe not very long :)

Since I dive my own tanks 95% of the time, I can switch from singles to doubles and back without changing any hoses. I simply put H valves on my HP130 single tanks.

I have a set of regs specifically for my doubles although one set can easily be used for rec, generally though, if I dive both from the same boat I have two wings and four regs there is another on my pony, how did life get so complicated?
