6 weeks for me as per Doctors' orders (a Cardio, a Surgeon, an Internal Med Specialist,etc..).
do a search here on diving after a major surgery. My story - I had a heart attack in 2nd week of December 2006, Doctors put 2 stents in my woeful clog arteries, did some rehab, did gym (still doing), did a pool dive in Feb and did my first post-heart attack salt water dive in the first week of April 07(around four months).
and the Laparascopy procedure on my gall bladder in June 08........
ps - needed to cancel Sogod December 06 and Apo Island February 07 dive trips. For a while there in December 06 in my hospital bed, I thought it was the the end for me as far as diving was concerned.......no, not my movie career:rofl2:.
pps - your ab muscles will never be the same again, it only recovers up to 70 to 80% of pre-surgery strength. No matter how you try you can't get 100% recovery. Not myth, a medical fact.
