Keeping these beings in captivity is inhumane. If your daughter really likes dolphins you would do well to teach her about this. Most of the time the dolphins will stay away, especially young children because they thrash around and scare the dolphins and the kids leave the experience thinking that they're "stupid". Many people think that keeping these animals in captivity will "educate" the public and that they will gain an appreciation for them but the animals behave completely different in capitivity and usually they don't perform up to our "expectations".
Was it last year that Mexico tried to import a huge amount of dolphins from the south pacific to fill these parks? Most of them died a slow painful death

I found this article. It is so sad. When you spend your money at places like this one it only goes toward promoting more of the same. Scoll down to last story. :mad1:

You need to post the hard link to the page, not the link that gets updated. There's no stories on that link about dolphins anymore.

This thread will give you a good idea of where the dolphins come from:

Still want to let your kids swim with the dolphins?

Yuk, I didn't think this sort of stuff was still pervasive in the large aquarium trade. Importing Pacific dolphins into the Atlantic for purely entertainment purposes smacks of the 1970's and earlier.

Try that... it's at the bottom

If you're at all interested in news from Coz, this is a good place to find it.

I know this is an old thread and that the original poster has most likely already done the dolphin swim...but here is another really good article with information about the dolphin encounter programs.
