I would quit if my job blocked anything at all....
Doesn't currently block it, but I'm thinking of asking them to SO I CAN GET SOME WORK DONE!

Ironically, most folks that are 'blocked' can't view or answer yet on this thread until they get home tonight!
You woudn't work for my company then....more andmore I am getting things like: 'Unauthorized to view this page'.... and it is silly things...nothing I would, or expect anyone else for that matter, consider unethical.Ice9:
Just recently, I explained my son's names to someone. It is chinese and based on mythical figures.. so I looked up Xi-ling (quiling).......'Unauthorized to view page'.....just because Xi-ling is the unicorn also seen in Fung-shui. I guess people can not look that up because it is 'the occult'? I can't think of any other reason than someone in IT thinking that. I am so p'd off at this......it's like 1984. The boss decides what you can look at..... what is this company coming to?
Anybody got any good jobs going in Orlando area FL?

I'm the IT guy and we don't block anything.
The main reason why companies install filters is to help production. The more people are surfing the internet at work the less work they are getting done. After all, you get paid to do a job. My boss has a good way of putting it. His explanation is "We (The company) purchases a block of time from you (the employee) and we want good results of the block of time that we purchase."
