does this suit look too big? just ordered the suit.... I ordered it alittle big on purpose, because im down about 30lbs. but im wondering if once i gain my weight back if this suit will still be too big, because all the extra fabric seems to be in the waist area. and the waist area is not where i plan to gain the weight. The suit is a size Large off the rack. what do you think? is it too big to dive? does it really even matter?

Yes, quite a bit too large. Even with heavy undergarments, the legs are too long and so is the torso.

you think it will be too large even if i gain my 30lbs back? is it too large to dive now? If so what are the consequences?

I can't tell from the pictures whether it's too large to dive. However, a suit that is too large allows air to move all around the suit causing large buoyancy/trim issues. It can also be hard to vent.

I don't know how it would fit with an extra 30 pounds. I know my suit went from nice.. to problematic when I gained 20.

Those are wonderful dry suits...I own a BARE neo ds myself.

From the photos you provided it would be my opinion that the suit as it is fitting on you now is to large.....have have no clue about its fit 30lbs. from now.....though it does appear long in the legs/arms and torso as is.

If you need a few extra 'pounds' I will be happy to give up a few of mine to you-- :)

Did you have your undergarment(s) on under the suit in those pics?

If so it looks pretty big.

i agree with what everyone is saying about the size of the suit and i thank everyone for there advice.... my next ques. is... can you have a suit altered?

Yes you can have dry suits altered, several top notch private companies around the country....but FIRST will your BARE dealer work with you in anyway since its new--??.......and along those same lines BARE itself offers alteration services and since they manfc. it you might consider that as an option for any alterations you need to have made.

Mark at Superior does alterations. If you just needed an arm shortened or lengthened would be one thing, but you need a lot of alterations there. Not sure it would be economical to have done.

Here goes a link to his site.

Shoot him an email with the pictures attached and see what he thinks.

On a side note, he does outstanding work.
