build up more interesting in scuba diving...

SB has certainly increased my desire to dive. I'm also learning so much from experienced folks and meeting a lot of good people.

It's all good!

Yeah it definitely gets me in the water more ofter. What I have learned here has influenced many diving decisions. I bought a BP/W from DSS, I got to dive with keylargobrent, I dove in San Diego, I dove in Maine this morning and I am going to Bonaire all because of this board and that doesnt include the fact that this board keeps me completely obsessed with diving.

Not really in my case. I have so much fun diving, it's all I ever think about. :D

Scubaboard has influenced my equipment purchases and inspired me to continue my training which has opened up more diving opportunities.

SB has definitely increased my dive count!

I live in Florida. I was an instructor when I met my wife. I was married for 18 years to a woman who had NO/0/ZIP/NADA desire to participate in SCUBA diving. We went through the normal financial trials of growing a family, but came through it all as most families do.

We went on a cruise where I was able to introduce my 12-year-old son to a resort dive... He loved it!

The ability to dive is directly related to finances when you have a minor child who dives with you. We were limited to the number of $130.00 boat trips (for both), $20.00 lunches (for both) and $30.00 gear rentals for a growing boy. A single day of diving is about $200.00. This is not a good dollar amount to show someone who has no desire to participate in SCUBA diving.

When we separated, I needed to expand my circle of friends, and I found SB while searching for gear.

Joined SB in March 2006 and have made excellent friends! (I realize while writing this, how grateful I am to have met them all, and will create a new post to let them know this, after I finish writing this one)

I have been diving almost every weekend since joining SB. Some times, I dive on a boat full of SBers, some times I meet them for shore dives and some times, with the knowledge and information I have found on this board, I make a trek to a new location for solo dives, or dives with my son. The cost savings of diving with my minor son has allowed me to get closer to him than I have ever been before. We have even scheduled dives and events around SB board members who make the trip to our area (Diving with Duncan, Dining with Duncan are among those events... Hi, Duncan!)

Since March, I have made more than 40 dives. Most of these are directly related to SB.

Thank you, Pete! You have helped me make world-wide friendships!

SB definitly helps keep me excited by, not just interested in, diving. It really helps the time go faster and pushed to shorter intervals between trips to Eilat. When I get down there and talk with my instructor, I find myself saying "my friend such and such says.......", then remind myself that I never really met my *friends* on SB, but it feels like I have...

If I still dove locally it might have gotten me to dive more. It has made me think about diving locally again, but I doubt that will ever get past the thinking stage.

Now I travel to dive, and frequency of that is pretty much a matter of schedule.

It sure keeps me interested. Since Feb, when I become certified, I have dived in BVI, Key Largo and Caymans. I never thought I'd go to the local lake, but I have been twice, and it helps keep me learning between trips. Gpoing to Hatteras a couple of times this year and Bonaire in Dec. (My kids are finally self supporting, and now I'm trying to cram a lifetime of diving in what's left of my life!)
