It's way more about personal abilities than employers. I took Wilderness and Remote First Aid, because I live near a city. Natural disasters are great at delaying first responders due to overwhelming need.

W&R FA:

"Learn how to respond to over 25 first aid emergencies when help may be delayed"

I did PADI Rescue in September of last year and it was acceptable. One of my instructors (not the instructor for Rescue) felt that the Red Cross's program was actually better than the PADI one, which, in their opinion didn't even have much diving specific content.

He said PADI kicked my app backed and wanted their own courses. I though it sounded strange. He is pushing ANDI and telling me he would rather get me their card than fight with PADI. Said something about his cert to teach the PADI first aid/cpr expired.

It’s been taking forever to get my DM card from him.

He is supposed to be working with me to become an ANDI tomorrow instructor anyways.

He swears I will have my ANDI card in weeks. I don’t have a preference but this is frustrating as hell with a huge backstory covering years and another instructor. I am going to leave that can of worms closed for now.

If I was a betting man, I would bet he is no longer a. PADI affiliate and his franchise dues expired while he was dragging his feet on my card. I was supposed to have it last June/July.

Occam’s Razor.

You may want to have a little conversation with PADI Training Department yourself.....this has all the makings of you getting screwed over.
