Does anyone use mobile phones in Mabul Island?

Is it avaliable in the Smart Resort or only in the village?

GSM mobile service is available. The service is erratic and intermitent at the main dive centre/ older part of the resort. Signal is strong on the long jetty leading to the water bungalows.
Internet access is avaible at the resort. Cost RM10.00 (approx US$2.63) per 15 minute block
