I have been researching Coco View resort, but the one thing no one really seems to mention is whether or not there's a beach aside from the shore diving entrance. When I look at the resort photos, it appears that in an aerial photo seen in the resort gallery, there is a large beach to the right of the picture. In all the posts I have read, no one seems to mention a beach, and the resort web site really makes no mention of it either.

If anyone could answer regarding this, or if anyone has any photos of the beach it would be greatly appreciated. This is an important priority for my "sun loving" wife at the end of her dive day.

Thanks for any info you all might be able to share.

You saw "the beach", as you say, to the right in the photos.

It's nothing like the beautiful beach or West End, nor like the groomed and chemical sprayed beach at Fantasy Island. The best resort based beach on Roatan is located at Paya Bay Resort, which is a "dive" resort in name only. Fantasy Island has had its recent problems as well.

My wife (aka "Herself") is a Sun Bunny, and altho she does 4/5ths of my daily dive schedule, she manages 45 minutes a day of Solar Powered Feed, usually browning her body from 12:30 to 1:30 daily. She does this on one of the several wood decks with loungers. Her favorite is one of them that is over the water. This avoids the State Bird of Roatan, the Sand Fly.

Here are a whole lot of photos of CocoView: CoCoView Explained in Pictures Photos by Doc_Adelman | Photobucket

CCV spends all of its real estate and efforts on keeping you in the water as much as you like, 24/7. I am old and beat-up, but I still get 5 a day plus a post lunch nap while Herself is turning golden brown.

Your dive count on your SB profile will likely rise by 27 after one week at CocoView. Your wife will get her tan, as well.

the beach to the right as you refer to is more like sand with rubble on Playa Miguel in front of the beach houses...like Doc sez....the decks are great to sun bathe on and keep away from the sand flies...but I do usually walk along the sandy rubble area at first light because it is so beautiful to watch the sun rise around the point :blinking:
