I stole this from another thread.
I didn't train with PADI so I never used it. And I've never seen anyone else use it. I carry a couple of IANTD tables printed on vinyl and rolled up in my pocket. Is the RDP really a useful gizmo? To me, the RDP is sort of like a slide rule and not "basic." I have a lot of the common times/depths memorized from looking at tables. I don't think the RDP is conducive to this and therefore not truly basic.
Don Wray:I'm the only one on the boat that breaks out the RDP and to check times...I have a computer but I still like to stay fresh with the basics..I've never seen another diver check....I would think that alot of them have probably dove that site before but not all...maybe I'm just paranoid
