Hey wb2glp no need to go to some other lame site. It is a very rare Voit porta sub. Missing the paint. I know because I have one in great working condition. I would say that yours is worth a grand all day in that condition. Don't let anyone scam it from you cheap. One sold without the paint for that years ago. Iv,e been away working out of state or I would have told you sooner. I wouldn't sell mine for less than 5k. Later Mike.

Hello Mike,
Good to see you back, any chance to post pix of your "PortaSub" as help to wb2glp as to what's needed in restoration also to confirm the colour of the unit when new ?

I will try to get some on tomorrow. But can't promise. I am leaving for work this weekend off to Florida. I hope to be diving there also.

Dan from Vintage was kind enough to send me the following pictures of his two Porta-Subs and a shot of the original instructions from the manufacturer before the company or design was bought by Voit.

That is so cool, and you got an instruction doc, too. That's got to be the Model-T of underwater scooters.

The nearest I have come up with is a "Porta Sub" as used in the "Sea Hunt " series if so its got to be saved.

My Buddy Sea Hunt Jerry restored a PortaSub last year and we posted some videos of early tests and diving it in Fortune Pond Michigan.
