Does 1 DCS hit increase probability of hit in future?

Hi:

The 'Hidden Stop' generally refers to holding at the surface for about five minutes, possibly finning a little, before starting to climb out of the water.:)

OK, but why? Is it a "stop" so tp speak, or just to avoid immediate exertion?
 
The pause at the surface is to continue the off gassing of dissolved nitrogen. It is called a ‘stop’ because of this elimination period, much the same that a 10 and 20 fsw stop is.

This elimination duration reduces the nitrogen load such that reboarding is performed with reduced gas loads.
