Hi,
This past several months have been quite enlightening for me going from my years of recreational diving to deeper and more technical diving. What amazes me is how much more the field now knows compared to 20 or so years ago when I was actively diving.
I'm currently in the middle of two different classes.
Taking my trimix class from Phil Sammet has and continues to be quite an incredible experience! I've learned so much in such a relatively short time and am doing dives I've only dreamed of a short while ago.
The other class is with Beto Nava in GUE's Fundamentals of Diving course (SF Bay Area) and I just finished my second night of the 5 night and 2 weekend class.
Tonight was in the swimming pool and in a few short lessons, Beto had me swimming backwards! This is something I thought I could never master and I felt I was too uncoordinated to learn it. I've read books, seen videos, practiced on my living room floor, jumped on my own pool on many occasions and failed to do the backwards kick. When I got the kick right, I was so excited that tonight I was able to swim one whole lap backwards!!!!
